Abstract


This interview deals with narrative construction about the life and professional trajectory of the teacher and researcher Rita de Cássia Marques. Based on the methodology of Public Oral History, we aim to address her journey in the field of Health and Disease History, a field in which she contributes substantially. The social function that Rita's memory can serve as a catalyst for broader reflections on the constitution of this field in Brazil. In addition, it can help us to reflect on the contributions of history to thinking about to the present time, plagued by the contexts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Rita takes us on a journey through time, which crosses the paths of gender, race, aging and historical characters of different temporalities.
